Iceberg Brawl

Iceberg Brawl is a party game for up to four players. Your goal is simple - be the last penguin standing, by knocking your opponents off the edge, dodging their attempts to do the same, and using powerups and the unique quirks of the level to your advantage.

The primary focus of my contributions was the AI system for computer-controlled penguin players. A core design pillar of Iceberg Brawl is crowded, chaotic gameplay, so the option to have computerized players was included to support this experience, even when a full group of four people is not available to play together.

My system interfaces with the character controller script, in order to ensure that the computerized players move like a human player would. Another goal was fine-tuning the balance between chasing other players, avoiding falls, and going after items, in order to simulate real players and provide a fair yet challenging experience.

Additionally, I integrated my AI system smoothly with the rest of the game, such as with spawning in players at the start of a match. Other contributions included some functionality with player locomotion and general bug fixes.
